Mornings were created to be a time of beauty, majesty and renewal. A time to breath deeply, truly living in the present moment worshiping God our Creator. Wouldn't that be lovely? Although life has it's way of getting in the way, we can still start our mornings meditating on God's words and renewing our spirit. Below are 8 verses from the Bible that I truly love. The translation comes from the Orthodox Study Bible and the () reference the chapter found in Protestant Bibles. You may memorize a few verses and pray them as you are getting out of bed, before you begin formal prayers or as you are getting ready for the day. With intention, there is no right or wrong way to pray God's words. I hope these verses speak blessings into your life as they have mine.
When put together, these verses make such a wonderful prayer for morning worship. Read below... "My spirit rises early in the morning to You, O God, for your commands are a light upon the earth. My heart is ready, O God, My heart is ready; I will sing and I will sing a Psalm. Awake, my glory; Awake harp and lyre; I will rise at dawn. The light is sweet and it is good for the eyes to behold the sun. In the morning You shall hear my voice. In the morning I will stand before You and I will watch. My eyes awoke before dawn that I might meditate before your teachings. I awakened and I am still with you. By day the Lord shall command His mercy and by night His ode will be with me, A prayer to the God of my life. One thing I ask from the Lord; this I will seek, that I may dwell in the house of the lord all the days of my life and behold the delights of the Lord and visit his temple. It is good to give thanks to the Lord and to sing Your name, O Most High, to proclaim Your mercy in the morning and Your truth at night." Below are printable posters of the above prayer.
